Bidrage med feedbackWe ordered a nice bottle of White Wine that went well with our stuffed clams. The stuff clams was well seasoned and had a nice crust on top. For our entree we had the lobster ravioli and it was really good. I loved the shrimp sauce that they used. Then weended the night with Cappuccino and the dessert of the day Banana cheesecake panzarotti. I never had this before and it waspretty tasty.
The food at this restaurant is outstanding. My wife and I have been twice and have never been disappointed. Their pizza with Italian sausage is a must-try! They top their pizza with fresh uncooked sausage that cooks as the pizza cooks - a cooking method I have only seen at one other shop, where I used to work. We shared a 12-inch pizza and the total bill was less than $20, making it the most affordable meal we have ever had dining out. Their bread is also excellent!
The food at this restaurant was good, but not exceptional. Unfortunately, the sausage in my scarpiello was overcooked and our entrees were warm to cool, indicating they had been sitting for some time before being served. The prices on the kids menu were high, with us paying $15 for a bowl of spaghetti with butter for our child. The service was lacking, with our waiter appearing unwelcoming and unsmiling. It seemed as though he did not care about providing good service or creating a pleasant dining experience, at times even displaying disdain towards us. We had to ask for silverware multiple times from different wait staff before finally taking it from an unoccupied table. The staff as a whole seemed unhappy and overwhelmed, possibly due to being short-staffed. Management should take steps to ensure their employees are not providing bad service due to frustration.
The atmosphere at this restaurant is very relaxed. The staff members are incredibly friendly and attentive. They always offer us more bread (because they know my husband and I eat too much of it), more cheese, and they are consistently in a good mood. I always leave Villa Italia feeling happy.
During my first visit to this restaurant, I didn't have the greatest first impression or experience. However, the food was delicious, so I decided to give it another try, and I'm glad I did. I was in town for work and stayed at a nearby hotel, so I ended up dining here multiple times. The food is consistently excellent, and the restaurant is always busy during dinner service. They have two separate dining areas, one in the lounge and another in the back that is more upscale. The bartender is friendly and attentive, making my experience even better. Overall, I have no complaints about this place. The only downside is their somewhat unusual operating hours, especially being attached to a hotel. The manager is strict about closing on time, so be sure to arrive before their technically open hours end.
