The Wheel - Stamford

The room is beautiful, alive, welcoming and they really feel that this could be something special. our server, kevin, was excellent and attentive. the room is hardwood, hard brick and glass making this overcrowded restaurant noise level most loud the room could be possible. adding the piped in the music makes communication difficult. the food was disappointing and should have been the star in comparison to the room. the menu offers two price points for entrees, 20-30 and 30-55. in portions are modest, which is ok, but eating is lacking consistency. both couples ordered the vegetable brand and bronzino. the vegetable tagine was made clear in the same pot. my friend has all the fun I got, above all, broth. the bronzino was a single filet in contrast to a single fish. it was served in under seasonal vegetables. I might have thought a night for the kitchen, but we have heard similar feedback from other friends who have tried it. it just doesn't hit the hype and I won't be back.

Love the wheel. Always come here for small bites and sit at bar. The salmon crispy rice and the mushroom pizza is just amazing.

We always love The Wheel, the ambience and the service is the best and the food is excellent as well. My only complaint would be that I wish they had more choices on the menu, or at least a couple of specials every night, and bought back the eggplant parm!!

I was very excited to see this restaurant as I like trying out new restaurants, I saw the photos online and I thought it looked very nice and chic . When we arrived we were seated at table for two that was literally at the end , right behind the hostess desk , it kind of killed the whole vibe for me right away as it was basically the worst table at the restaurant … I think the food was ok , nothing out of this world as we go to very good restaurants with great chefs , it was what you would expect at this price point , decent …Our server was kind and nice . Would I go back ?… I am not sure … I think I would like to go back to Prime instead since all tables make you feel part of the ambiance there and the food , ambiance and view is better .
