Coalhouse Pizza - Stamford

The waitress was inattentive and rarely checked on us. We visited on trivia night, which wasn't mentioned on their website or when we arrived at 6 PM. The noise level was high, and we would have chosen another place had we been aware. The trivia hosts used profanity and discussed inappropriate topics, starting at 7 PM, when many families with young children were present. While the food was good, we won’t be coming back because of the poor service.

I would only eat there if there was live music scheduled. We're particularly drawn to the performances by Willful Misconduct.

The service used to be much better, but now it has become quite poor. Frequently, the beers listed on the menu are unavailable. They never have the chips that typically accompany the meal, but they do not allow for substitutions, and they fail to inform you that they are out of them until your meal is served. The servers have also been forgetting items that were ordered. It was once a fantastic place, but it has now become just mediocre.

Mozz sticks (really a log) were outstanding, but downhill from there. The vodka pizza was dry, and disappointingly bland.

The pizza here is fine. We recently went here for my husband’s birthday. It took an insanely long time to get any drinks (including Diet Coke and ice tea in addition to beer which was flat and mixed drinks made wrong). I’m not exaggerating it was easily 20 minutes or more. Food was an extremely long wait. We sat down at 7, we were not eating until 8:30. Food came out wrong and my husband was then up all night feeling unwell. We liked this place in the past but won’t be back. Also, server seemed to not care, multiple times we asked for extra napkins, never received any. He also lacked basic knowledge about the menu (can I sub broccoli rab instead of having Brussel sprouts). I mentioned I am vegetarian and specifically asked that there be no sausage in my broccoli rabe, it was delivered with sausage. We sent it back. Then we were told it’s all made together so ok I said nevermind. Then 30 minutes later broccoli rabe came out w no sausage. ?? It was made with jalapeños and banana peppers and was so spicy we couldn’t eat it. The garlic bread on the supposed-to-be-but-tasted-nothing-like-it penne vodka was insanely salty and also couldn’t be eaten.
