Bidrage med feedbackSometimes Golocal reviews are dedicated to decision-making. During a visit to the neighboring Teltow, the Golocal app and the even meaningful reviews in this case a few kilometers further west to Stahnsdorf (3 km south of Berlin 5 km east of Potsdam) led me to the Indian restaurant “Taj Mahal”. The Indian restaurant is gladly named after the Mausoleum for Mumtaz Mahal, the wife of the Indian Great Mogul Shah Jahan (17th century),... good. Whether an Austrian restaurant “Zur Kapuzinergruft” encourages me to visit...?? The restaurant is located on the south street of Potsdamer Allee. As parking spaces on the street are prohibited, it is necessary to use the in-house parking lot or the adjacent supermarket parking lot. There is also the possibility to travel by bus. The house: The one-storey building is difficult to perceive from the road. The orange-yellow signal color of the facade also changes nothing. But a big sign and an Indian flag on the road show the way. In addition to the parking lot there is a small beer garden summer terrace directly at the house. The restaurant: It has several rooms. The seat is not too tight. The decoration is a bit Indian-kitschig. The centre of the front room is dominated by a large artificial palm. The menu: It is extensive and offers Indian cuisine: appetizers, main dishes, desserts, drinks. Most main dishes are only under 10 €uro. The changing additional card “The Chef recommends” is somewhat more expensive. From Monday to Friday, daily meals from 5 € are offered. Service: The service is attentive, fast and very nice. Despite the well visited house there were no significant waiting times. The host looks at how to imagine an Indian Maharaja: turban and dark wallet. The menu included Indian fladen bread and 4 dives from fruity to piquant to sharp. The food: I chose a dish from the extra card: Chicken Khumani ( chicken in apricot sauce and rice) for 10,50 €uro and dessert Gulab Jamun (footballs in hot honey rose syrup) for 2,50 €uro. The waiting period for food may be referred to as ‘minimum’. The part was sufficiently large and tasted good. I was also positively surprised by the dessert, but I could not imagine something really tasteful among cheeseballs with honey. Was delicious! Conclusion: Good and recommended restaurant. You're welcome.
Namaste, if you glorify an Indian, and so it is refreshed to Hindi. Tuma kaise ho? Accha. Well, it's coming back and you already have the sympathy on his side. Why do I start? I want to rate the Taj Mahal. Not the big mausoleum in Uttar Pradesh India, no, but the restaurant in Stahnsdorf. From Potsdam, where I had my quarters, it was only about 6 km away in the Potsdamer Allee. About 100 meters from Taj Mahal is the beautiful looking China Restaurant Kaiser Pagode. I've often eaten Chinese and cooked for me, but never Indian. So I was very excited about it. Before Taj Mahal there is a large parking lot and a terrace. It wasn't really warm to sit outside. So come to the restaurant, the above mentioned greeting formulas I had learned before. Mr. Trideep Singh, with white turban and noise bar, greeted us kindly, gave us a nice place and showed us where the buffet is located. His wife stood in her costume Salwar Kameez behind the vault, which looked like an island on an aircraft carrier. The floor is nicely tiled and the walls are kept in a warm orange tone. There are pictures of Indian beauties and a picture of Taj Mahal. Since children and young people probably come to dinner with parents, pictures from Kamasutra were omitted. The buffet is located in the side area and was dressed in 10 heated stainless steel dishes. On the wall there was also a table showing the dishes. In front of the bowls there were salads and vegetables, as well as a kind of thin crunchy bread and a sweet dessert. In the background, quiet music played so that one felt kidnapped to India. Three times I visited the buffet and tried the delicious dishes that were all very good, but not too spicy. For all foods you can take long-grained Basmati rice or potatoes a la Bombay. I liked the mushrooms in figs, the dice lamb and pig. Until the fish, who had experienced better times, dried out and tasted “woody”, I liked the delicious dishes very well. The buffet costs per person lukewarm € 6.90 and you could really eat rich. But I stayed back when I had the “wide” way to Hamburg before me. I can definitely recommend this restaurant because the price-performance ratio is unbeatably good, the dishes are pleasantly seasoned and you can eat rich for little money. Chef and chef are very friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes. Alavida says goodbye and I mean literally.
So we are almost regular guests in this Indian restaurant and are always happy to come here. The restaurant offers a wide choice in the menu. We usually go to Sunday brunch as we can taste different dishes at the same time. The guest couple is terribly nice and enjoys the wishes of the guests except the row, because our daughter suffers from celiac disease and here she gets her gluten-free food extra prepared. The food always tastes and the cleanliness in the restaurant or in the other premises we have nothing to do with it. We were with friends and acquaintances there a few times and they liked it. We were of course also in other Indian restaurants, but we never liked it as in Taj Mahal Stahnsdorf, we like to come back to our favorite Indian, because here you feel well served, almost like in a family.
If you like Indians, you don't know where to eat in the south-west of Brandenburg right away... except that you know the Taj Mahal, then nix can go more wrong. The boss is great that food is extra hot on request. It is always served hot and the Yogitee is also available once needed in an old porcelain can on the table. It's just always delicious. If you have to organize a larger family party, you can celebrate in a space that has a very good air conditioning (best suited if smokers are sitting in it). Price performance=TOP! Just try. It is not necessarily 5 stars.
Great, we always like to go. Indian hospitality and ambience
