Bidrage med feedbackWetherspoons deserves praise for transforming a former movie theater into a pub. The building may have been saved in the process. I visited during a windy late September evening in 2023, with sporadic light rain. The salad I ordered, with bacon and chicken, was tasty but the chicken pieces were small. It came with a Pepsi. The apple crumble with a side of ice cream was a generous portion. The pub has a cozy atmosphere and the staff were friendly. It's conveniently located less than a 12-minute walk from Stafford railway station, which offers frequent and high-quality train services.
I arrived at the restaurant at 11:45 AM and requested the Eggs Benedict, but was told it was not available. I decided to order the regular breakfast instead, which came out quickly and was delicious. The toast was not buttered, but I was able to get some butter at the bar upon request. The restaurant was busy, but the staff was efficient in serving customers and clearing tables. It would be beneficial if the restaurant management responded to reviews on Tripadvisor instead of ignoring them.
It is a cool, pretty cool place for a ‘spoons. eating was the same as all the others. even thought it was busy, the speed of the service was good. they just don't ask for hophouse 13, they'll never have it.
For a wetherspoons pub this is definitely one of the better. the building is fantastic and has maintained all its original features. they sometimes show films on the original screen at the front of the pub (it was a cinema before! and to christmas have to see Christmas films. drink are usually cheap and eating is as expected at a wetherspoons (shaft, not big, not bad. the table service is available via the app. they have now also opened a balcony area in the upper floor on the back of the pub. if she can get a table up there, it's a great place to watch over the pub. destined to make a stop when they are in stafford.
Great eating, atmosphere and really good price-friendly drinks, definitiw a visit worth
