Pin On Cafe - St. Petersburg

We decided to visit this restaurant specifically to try their onigiri. Ever since we left Hawaii, we had been craving onigiri and were hoping that Pin On Cafe would satisfy our craving. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed and surprised by the positive reviews. The restaurant itself was very plain, appearing to have been an old Italian restaurant with a dingy interior. We started our meal by ordering a blue pineapple soda and plum wine. The soda was good but overly sweet, becoming more pleasant once the ice melted. The plum wine was disappointing, tasting like a cheaply flavored beverage rather than actual plum wine. When the onigiri arrived, we tried various flavors including pickled cucumber and red cabbage, seaweed salad and edamame, spicy tuna, and spicy shrimp. Each onigiri had a poor ratio of rice to filling, with some having minimal filling and most containing only a small amount. The spicy tuna was overly fishy, and the spicy shrimp had a rubbery texture. The rice lacked any flavor or seasoning. The highlight of our meal was the pork yaki udon, which was delicious with perfectly cooked noodles and well-seasoned meat. Our waitress, Sandra, was excellent, being very friendly and helpful. Without the udon and Sandra, our experience would have been disappointing. It's unfortunate that the onigiri was not as good as expected, especially since it was recommended as a must-try dish at this restaurant. The lack of fresh ingredients makes us hesitant to revisit Pin On Cafe.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I went there with a friend for lunch and we were excited to try the rolls from the great looking menu. Unfortunately, the rolls were tasteless and the wasabi lacked any kick. The service was good and the waitress was very nice, but the food was not up to par. I have had better tasting rolls from Publix.

I absolutely love this restaurant! Their Thai dishes and sushi are exceptional, and this is my go-to spot for lunch. The customer service is top-notch, with friendly staff who are always quick and efficient while maintaining high quality.

Had the small lunch special, very good food, very good deal. Service was professional and friendly and the food came out really fast. Will be coming back and trying more things from the menu!

Heard so much about this place decided to give it a try for lunch. We decided to pick up and have to say what we ordered everything was tasty and so well worth the price compared to what others charge. Their lunch special bento boxes are definitely worth a try and tasty ?. The only downfall is there beef was a bit dry but everything else in the Box was great. We ordered the firecracker roll and spicy tuna roll a must try as well. We are onigiri fans and they did not disappoint as well as our huge. Will definitely either stop by or order again this Hidden Gem nearby
