Joey's Seafood Restaurants

If I could give negative stars, I would. This restaurant is no longer worth the time or money. Years ago, we used to enjoy it, but that’s not the case anymore. We visited for fish and chips on a Friday night and found the service to be slow and unfriendly. Many items listed on the menu were unavailable, and the prices seemed high for the quality of food we received. It felt like we were back in school, served on a tray with small portions: a tiny piece of fish and just a handful of fries. Coleslaw is not included with the fish and chips; you have to pay an extra $3.00 for it! We even had to hunt down a server to get the lemon wedges that were supposed to come with our meal. Overall, I was extremely disappointed. I won't be coming back. While we were there, we noticed other customers who had just been seated receiving no acknowledgment or service; after seeing our meal, they decided to leave. This place is definitely not worth your time or money!

It seems that the restaurant is under new ownership. The fry portion was disappointingly small compared to the generous servings we used to get at Joey's. The water (with ice?) had a strange, musty taste that reminded me of a damp basement. Our table didn’t seem to be properly cleaned, and there was a ladder leaning against the wall, giving the place an unkempt vibe, nothing like the warm, inviting atmosphere it had in the past. The fish was served hot and tasted good, but the portion size was smaller than I remembered. The fries were of acceptable quality, but there just weren’t enough of them. The chicken and popcorn shrimp were quite dark, and the chicken bites had some cool centers, which was concerning. I believe the person who appeared to be the new owner or manager was genuinely trying to make improvements, but unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

The Joey's in my hometown closed down, so we drove an hour just to enjoy their famous fish and chips, and it was definitely worth it! The service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious with excellent quality.

Very friendly and fast service. Lots of parking. Would have loved to see 1pc fish meals as 2pc is too much. Chicken bites could have used more flavour and spice.Walls beside tables and the floors could use a wash.

Service was good. Friendly and quick.Fish (pollock) was mediocre. Fries good. Coleslaw costs extra. Can of pop outrageous at $3.Dark and tired interior.Much better fish n chips can be had elsewhere (eg. Halibut House in NF).
