Subo Sushi Burritos - Springfield

I've been coming to this restaurant for months, and I've realized I haven't written a proper review yet. This has become my girlfriend and my go-to spot for making bets—she'll claim someone is in a movie, and I’ll disagree. The winner gets to enjoy a free burrito. The food here is fantastic; she loves the Caribbean dish, while I usually order the Ninja burrito, though I might try the Caribbean next time, depending on whether I owe a burrito or have earned one. The location is charming, with outdoor seating available. One of the tables really needs some repairs, but it doesn't detract from the dining experience—it's just something I've noticed over my many visits. I usually stick to Sushi Pure, but every now and then, I crave a change, and Subo is the perfect place for that.

I really enjoy the food at this restaurant, but my last few visits have been disappointing due to the service. Just two days ago, I went in to pick up an order and arrived a bit early. The staff seemed put out when I asked questions and were quite rude when I inquired about getting my order ahead of schedule. Instead of simply saying something like, "I’m sorry, we’re busy, but it will be ready on time," I received a vague response that required me to ask further questions just to get clarity. Today, I ordered through GrubHub for pickup, and although the restaurant is supposed to close at 8, I arrived at 7 to find it closed.

For those with dietary restrictions, there are plenty of vegetarian options, as nearly all items can be customized to be vegetarian or vegan. They also cater to gluten-free, keto, and vegetarian diets. If you're looking for paleo options, you might be able to create something suitable by ordering specifically.
