Bidrage med feedbackHad a lovely breakfast here. The pancakes were some of the best I've ever had. Coffee, sausage, and eggs were fairly standard. You can't beat the location if you're planning to visit Lincoln's neighborhood
Cool little place to eat. The staff were friendly and the food delicious. I highly recommend the catfish IF they?re offering it. Hamburger?s are great also. The baked potatoes have a cream chive topping that is not only unique but very good as well. The Lemon Raspberry Cheesecake was amazing!
Beautiful restaurant. We came in before they closed. All our food was amazing. Check out the cute buns. The venue is beautiful and will keep you looking around at the art and architecture of the building. I got the Lincoln Burger with Fries (hand cut and delicious....they bring malt vinegar to the table too). Everyone loved their meals. We will be back again soon.
Eat in a house almost 200 years old. We spend much of the day visiting the Lincoln house and touring the grounds. This place stood out, as a possible place to eat. We passed on it for lunch, but made it there for dinner. First off the food here is amazing. My son ordered the shrimp scampi and mentioned how good it was. I ordered something called a Ponyshoe, which is the smaller take on the Horseshoe that is a Lincoln, IL original. I never heard of pony or horseshoes before as a food, so it was a very, ?when in Rome situation .? It was so good, I really didn?t know what to expect, but it was good. The dinner was one of our more expensive eating stops for sure, but also one of the best. Atmosphere, server location was all excellent. I was so glad we stopped. It?s in an area where they could serve subpar food just because the location is so tourist heavy, but they do not. You can tell how much care goes into this place and it reflects in the food. This made our day.
My word what a pleasant surprise! We dined here for dinner and we loved our meals. I had the bourbon glazed pork chop, my daughter had a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries, and my husband had his first ?horseshoe?. If you have not had a Springfield horseshoe, let me say that there are a lot of ways this dish could go completely wrong. Springfield Carriage did everything right. My husband asked for the cheese sauce on the side since he only wants so much cheese on any dish. The fries were perfection and the cheese sauce was not overly heavy. The waitress was very helpful and kind. This is a unique dining experience and we would go back tomorrow. :
