Plaza Mexico - Springfield

Attended Saturday night dance after the kitchen closes (10pm-1.30am). Safe place to dance. Security at the door and checking the crowd inside. 100-150 people while we were there.

Really enjoyed our first visit here! My GF had the Carne Asada and I tried the Chile Relleno. Both meals were very good, and we agreed the rice was better than anything in recent memory! I only wish my meal had been a little more spicy. But, we absolutely loved the atmosphere... a waitress was singing along with the wonderful South of the border music to herself, we could hear several employees towards the back telling funny stories to each other with lots of laughter! I mentioned to the waiter how good the rice was, and he replied I know, I like to take a box home with me! , and his enthusiasm made us both laugh! Overall, Plaza Mexico has an authentic vibe that seems to be missing from the majority of Tex-Mex restaurants here in Springfield; it 's not just the good food, it 's about making it a happy place to be, and we look forward to coming back!

I’ve eaten at every Mexican restaurant in Springfield numerous times. This is my favorite and I go here once a week. Their chicken fajitas are great!

Food was excellent but service was very slow. At 630 pm only 4 people there.
