Bidrage med feedbackFab little village with a cool bar had piadini with wild asparagus collected fresh from the hills. Owner a real music freak so watch out for live bands playing here and buskers on a Sunday afternoon. An experience and nice to get away from tourists in Spello.
Good pasta with artichokes. Wine was great. Service excellent even though the place was full. I ordered grilled vegetables but I got only spinach. It was very good but not what I asked for.
We found this restaurant by accident after walking from Spello. Our expectation was zero as we didn't think Collepino had any bars or restaurants. So we were very pleasantly supprised to stumble across this Taverna. We found the be very tasty, well cooked and value for money. The local house red was excellent and a bargain to boot.
We came across Collepino, a delightful medieval hill town on a hike from Spello. We discovered this restaurant and promptly booked for dinner that evening. The room was warm and inviting and the food superb! Delicious antipasti, Strangozzi with truffles, grilled meats (pork and lamb) and the best peperoni (grilled peppers). A local desert of dried fruit and nuts and a good panna cotta with red fruits ended the feast. Service was good, unfortunately our Italian is not!
We walked from Spello to Collepino along the aqueduct path. Great walk, easy at first but last half hour was extremely steep and rocky. We were very glad to get a seat at the restaurant and were all very hungry for a big lunch. We all had different selections from the grilled meats and all were fantastic. Served with sautéed wild greens, roasted potatoes and grilled pecorino which was similar to grilled haloumi. Great house wine and service from the owner who spoke little English and we spoke little Italian but managed to make ourselves understood. Well worth the walk!
