Lakeside Licks - Speculator

Was in Speculator August 21, 2018 with the hopes of getting a peanut butter sundae-which is amazing-but disappointed to see that they were closed! I know they are for sale but I am really hoping someone picks this place up and continues the awesome things Lakeside Licks has going. Great selection of ice cream flavors and delicious, unique sundae options. I visit the town 1-2 times a year and will miss not being able to stop here if it's gone. Would have given 5 stars if it were open

Wow. I'm beginning to think that Lakeside Licks Speculator wants Summer to end even sooner than it already does in the ADK. 2 weeks to Labor Day and they don't seem to want to scoop ice cream anymore. Sorry to inconvenience you with a tap on the service window expecting you to do what you're in business to do. Next Summer is all about King of the Frosties for our family.

The ice cream is pretty good. We have gone here a few times and we've never been on the receiving end of any bad attitudes. Though, we probably came here two years after the original review for the first time, so I'm sure there have been new people working there since then. Stick to the soft serve and the already made flavors. Partner-in-crime ordered some flavor (apple-related something or another) and they added the flavor into the soft serve. My guess is how good this is depends on what the flavor is but he didn't care for that one. I would say if you're just looking for a small dessert, a medium might feel too big.

While the young lady serving us wasn’t particularly chatty, she was professional and did her job perfectly—taking our order and delivering our ice cream without any issues. Though there was no attitude, I did catch a glimpse of a smile when she saw the squeals of delight from the kids as they received their bowls. There’s ample street parking available, or you can use the gravel lot in the back—just be cautious as it's all stone. The prices are reasonable too, with the child-sized portions being cheaper than the small, yet they offer nearly the same amount of ice cream! The portions are quite generous! As camping season is kicking off, I expect the lines will get longer, but this place is definitely worth a visit for some delicious ice cream!

The staff at the ice cream stand were very friendly, and the service was efficient, even accommodating substitutions for their ultimate sundaes. They have a great selection, by the way! Jennifer recommended the peanut butter explosion sundae, and it definitely lived up to the hype! This family-run business is fantastic. There's even a location near me! I would love to see some food options added, although I was informed that the Highland location has a full menu. Thank you for providing such an enjoyable experience for someone like me who couldn’t make it to Maine this year but still needed an ice cream fix!
