Carmody's Restaurant Bar - Southport

I've been coming to Carmodys for 15 years, especially with friends, where we'd redeem our special birthday vouchers. When I came to love all aspects of the restaurant, I have also been for various family celebrations many times, or just dinner with my husband himself. We came even during the height of Covid last year and they should all be proud of their ability to still provide a beautiful experience, taking into account the many changes ie. Table number restrictions etc. had to implement them. We have never been disappointed with the high-quality service from staff to the amazing menu choices. This booking, we decided on the tasting menu and everything was perfect I highly recommend the cured bugs dish, so good. The best parking spaces are located anywhere near the main entrance to the Sharks Club, as you need to sign a walk to the right behind the club where Carmodys is located10/10

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Carmody's last Saturday night and it was amazing! From booking process to service from all employees, cocktails and food. It was all fantastic and will definitely be back. Special mention of our main waiter Cameron and the manager Socky, who made sure we had a wonderful evening. Thank you.

Visited this restaurant a few times as me and my partner both like it’s food and atmosphere. It’s good value for money to fine dinning. This time came for their Celebration menu. For our entrees, both the prawns chicken were overcooked, so quite dry. We both had the steaks which were cooked perfectly to medium rare, delicious! The shared dessert and the wine were nice. Friendly attentive staff, so overall a nice place for dining.

We chose this on a whim and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the fried chicken, steak, calamari, and another dish that wasn't mine, but still received great praise from my friend. All in all, we each agreed that the food was delicious and felt that the prices matched the quality. The wine menu was decent as well as the cocktails plenty of options. The restaurant itself is intimate, and clearly abiding by covid restrictions. Staff were mostly friendly and attentive. Would I return? Actually, yes. I've never been a big Leagues club person, but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Should you visit? Absolutely. It's a gem outside of the normal coastline of the GC.

The food was average over priced). Being a part of Insider restaurant by the Fork made us choose this restaurant but, it was sort of average experience throughout. I also have to mention that “PRICE IS MISLEADING” that is advertised on third party app’s as the restaurant decided to charge an EXTRA 10% because we were not a member of Sharks club. These things have to be clearly mentioned in the menu section but, it is incorrect which is disappointing!! ENTREE’s were the only good thing about our total dinner experience. We ordered PORK $45) and Lamb rack $50) for our mains these were not even close to being decent/ good as my Lamb was served RARE when I specifically asked for Medium and it was under seasoned. The pork dish was way too salty and Bland in the middle. Dessert was disappointing Popcorn Creme Brûlée Didn’t taste a single thing Popcorn The top part was Super BURNT and it felt like were eating some BURNT Charcoal. This was definitely an average/ mediocre food and wouldn’t really consider/ recommend for fine dining experience.
