Shogun Higachi - Southlake

I made reservations for my son's birthday, and he absolutely loved it. The food was fantastic, and the entertainment was top-notch. The chef was very kind and really engaged with everyone at the table.

Kevin was fantastic and engaged with our kids throughout the entire meal. It was a wonderful family experience overall.

Kevin our chef was GREAT! The only reason for not giving all 5 stars is because we asked to set directly across from the chef at the hibatichi table but the hostess said “we have to leave room for other people coming in”, it was a Monday night, not busy at all and they didn’t even seat anyone else in the whole place until 30 minutes after we arrived, a big group who obviously had a table reset for just their party. Hostess needs training on customer service.

We took a party of 8 to Shogun for my bday dinner. The only thing that happened was that we had a reservation for 7:15 and didn't get seated til 7:35. Otherwise, the service was really good and the food was excellent too. Would recommend going again.

I love hibachi restaurants, but for the most part, they are a dime a dozen. The food was good, the presentation (show) was subpar--our cook was not very charismatic, but my biggest issue was with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Everything was sticky. The tile floors of the bar area, where we waited for our table, were incredibly sticky and it remained on our shoes until we came home and cleaned them with hot, soapy water. The tables, blinds, carpet, everything was sticky. I'm sure it's unique challenge for a hibachi restaurant, with the cooking happening at the tables, but I was grossed out.
