Conservatory Garden Room

Very busy during the time we were there. We were placed in the restaurant between two large groups of people and felt very uncomfortable. Moved after main course to small lounge which was an improvement. Second night we booked to sit in the bar which wasn’t we hoped for but at least quiet. Food and service very good. Breakfast, however wasn’t as good and took a very, very long time. Regrettably wouldn’t visit again as dining facilities too uncomfortable for us.

This was our first time dining at this restaurant, as we were in search of a local spot near where we were staying in Chard. Our satnav led us through a housing estate and down a long, narrow lane. We were greeted warmly and decided to sit in the conservatory. My partner opted for the cod and chips, while I chose the Thai green curry. We were relieved that we didn't order starters, as the portions were very generous and everything was fresh and hot. My curry was excellent, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. My partner thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips, even the peas were top-notch. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was nice, and the toilets were clean.

Stayed here for 2 nights and ended up eating at the restaurant twice, as where we wanted to go on the second night was fully booked! Two great meals and not too costly.

My partner and I dined at this restaurant on Friday night during our two-night stay. The starters and main courses were exceptional, while the desserts were good but not quite on the same level. We would have rated it 5 stars if the desserts had been a bit better. The service was satisfactory with no problems. We highly recommend dining here if you are staying in the area.

I took my parents out for afternoon tea to celebrate my mother's birthday. It was fantastic - there was an abundance of delicious food, especially the scones. The never-ending tea pot ensured we had plenty of tea to accompany the four types of sandwiches and delightful cakes, particularly the one with Bailey's cream. I highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a special afternoon tea experience. The food and service were excellent, definitely worth the price of £16.50 per person. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience.
