Bidrage med feedbackI have visited this restaurant twice recently and had a great experience both times. The menu offers a wide selection of typical Italian dishes, there are reasonably priced wines, and the service is excellent. It has the feel of a long-established, family-run restaurant. We definitely plan on returning.
Me and my friend visited around 8pm on a Friday night. Whilst the manager was a lovely lady and the staff are all pleasant the food really let it down. I had prawns to start. They were actually quite nice, the sauce just felt like heat rather than being balanced with other flavours. The real dissapointment was the mains.. I had chicken in the pepe Verde sauce which was just peppercorn steak sauce. Super rich and other than pepper, no other real flavour. The vegetables were sooo mushy, and it all just fell totally flat. My friend has the chicken escalope which she's had before, and they asked her wether it was to come with fries or spaghetti, she expected the red sauce and cheese on the chicken like a parmigiana. But it was literally just a breaded chicken dry and chips. The most beige plate to come out of an Italian restaurant! I Must say we were still chewing our starters when the mains arrived! A suey zero break which always makes me feel like they're rushing you to get eaten and get out which is a real shame. The wine was nice however, so kudos on that! Shame as its local to me but I dont think I'd give it another chance.
We had a fantastic meal with our family at this restaurant. We enjoyed sitting outside and the food was delicious. Plus, they allow dogs which is a bonus. The tiramisu was particularly amazing. We loved it so much that we have already booked a table for results day.
Lunch with a friend. Haven't been here in a while. Family run business. Ate outside on the enclosed terrace on a sunny Friday. Lovely Arancini starter followed by Lobster Ravioli main. Gorgeous food, excellent service, reasonably priced. Happy to recommend.
My wife and I visited here for the first time in 10 years but our next visit will be more like 10 DAYS. The Manager, Daniela, greeted us as we arrived and took our order, even giving us a taster of 2 wines in order for us to choose the one we wanted. She was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We shared a Calabrese garlic bread (formerly Mexicana) which was exactly how we remembered it all those years ago, clearly the best in any Italian Restaurant. This was followed by Chicken with a Calabrese sauce consisting of onions, peppers, garlic, mushrooms, chilli in red wine, along with seasoned vegetables and potatoes We both agreed that this was the nicest meal we had ever eaten in any restaurant before, well done chef! All of the food was piping hot and we thoroughly enjoyed the Pinot House wine. Despite the fact that we live about a mile from an Italian restaurant, this will be our number one choice for Italian food from now on.
