Bidrage med feedbackThis used to be my local haunt, when I worked in South Perth quite a while ago (the real estate office I used to staff is now a nail salon! I still am very pleased to report yes, it is still there and yes, I still adore the food! But it 's the theme of it, the little shop you walk into and then having made your order (in my case the Shroom, under the Breakfast Menu in The Classics column and the surprises you find. On the way to your table, you can either sit at the first few tables you see or you could go past the grass on the wall with the red and white dotted mushrooms on the path and see the rest of the seating area. The courtyard, some might say is overgrown and with the tiny japanese style bridge over a lake (buckets of plants sitting beneath it still charms the child in me. A cherry blossom touch reminded me of Chinese New Year but decided to sit near the wishing well (even though normally would not sit that near the men 's toilets . But I didn 't mind because of the families present and the sense of bonhomie, plus all the greenery, the paving stones, sitting in the fresh air -all of which made you forget you were dining in suburban Perth. My meal arrived in due course by a smiling staffer and it tasted hot, fresh and tasty. I have always loved fried enoki and the squeak it gives you when you chew it. Taking my time to enjoy the sights and sounds, I was delighted when I was joined by a very inquisitive and amusing willy wagtail. He (Willy 's are always referred to as 'he ' was very interested in my breakfast and I thought it was the rocket he was interested in but no it was something else he was after. I eventually gave in, tossing a little bit of toast, which he demolished. He got quite close to me (see pics so much that I almost forgot to use my camera! Other people were charmed to, at our interaction as to start marveling to me how nice it was. Oh yes, the meal was excellent, the mix of mushrooms and the spinach and parmesan completed the perfectly poached egg. Just the ticket so I could pop next door to a Garden Affair and carry on with the delight of the day.
We came here for my mums bday lunch just wanting a nice little cafe for a light easy meal and it was absolutely perfect!! The staff are lovely The cafe has plenty of seating and areas to choose from, unfortunately it was raining and cold so we sat inside. But outside is all undercover and they did have heaters to try help warm up a little. But we feel the cold too much for that The meals are lovely, with plenty of options for light meals like toasties or pastry to larger meals like pasta and parmis All the meals are very well priced too! Highly recommend this cafe if your in the area or make the trip like we did for a special occasion/catch up
I've been here a few times and when you walk into the cafe you find a lovely hidden garden with tables and umbrellas to protect you from the sun and rain. High tea was lovely and the fish dishes I've tried have been great.
I went in a group of 8 as most tastes are catered for: Fish, Beef and Steak Burgers and vegetarian etc. I visit at least one a month and usually go for the stuffed mushrooms. Great value at $16. All meals come with salad and chips. The garden at th rear is quiet. Service friendly and helpful. Coffee afterwards is also cheap $4? Parking is not difficult as Coles permit the use of their nearby car park. Local street parking is usually available.
Great palce for a meal or just coffee and cake. Lots of room out the back under the shady trees or alongside the nursery. Generous portions of well presented fresh food. Parking is not so easy especially with building going on at the moment.
