Harry Ramsden's - South Oxfordshire

Cooked fresh, the cod was beautifully falling off separating into pieces. The the batter was not oily and lovely. The chips were fresh. The mushy peas were excellent. My family were so happy we congratulated the chef. Truly excellent.

Stopped here to charge the car and have a full English. Very nice indeed all fresh and tasty, quick service.

Suffice it to say, that about 7-8 hours later, I was rushing for 'facilities '. First and last time I risk this particular service area. Harry Ramsden used to be a cultural icon. A Yorkshire beacon amid the grey American clouds of subfood and **** king... shame. It got internationalised and thereby ruined.

Everything was priced as a chip shop. Meals were priced according to Motorway services but portion size compensated. Dont ask for Large. Spotted a decent breakfast offer as well. Maybe next time.

Stopped at services with intention of picking up "a quick bite to eat ' looking at the other options we then saw meal deal for £7.99 compared to a £4 sandwich thought it was a bargain. Not expecting much or anything special I was super impressed when I was served a large deep filled pie, served on a plate and although not the same atmosphere as a restaurant the food was of restaurant quality. After a long day travelling a good decent meal was more than welcome. So much more than a chippy
