Had afternoon lunch had baked potato with prawns potato still frozen in the middle prawns like rubber no bread roll with cheese board don’t go

We decided to dine at this restaurant after returning to the hotel, as we didn't want to venture elsewhere. The food was delicious, however, the gravy was extremely thick. Our plates were not cleared after we finished eating, and we were not asked if we wanted anything else, though we didn't need anything more at that time.

Called into for my evening meal. Must say the carvery was not bad. The two young men waiting in the area (they looked like twins) one of them was unbelievable on kept arguing the manager saying he knew but clearly did not. At one stage...I heard him and the female chef arguing in the kitchen she told him to F off. One of the customers in the bar area must have ordered tea he was running through the restaurant and bar with the warm teapot in hand. On the evening I was not the only customer with a bad experience another customer in the main bar complained about his meal and got a refund. I waited to complain however the manager kept disappearing and was on the phone. Not a pleasant experience. With a rating below some of the local fast food outlets that says it all. Tiem for change me thinks

We visited this pub for an evening meal , firstly the bar and serving staff not only didn’t speak English they didn’t understand it !! I had lasagne whilst hot was dry and tasteless think it was actually mince and tomato, my husband ordered scampi...took the manager to come over to get them to understand we would like some tartare sauce , we had ordered a side of garlic bread this came out as cheesy bread again it took the manager to understand the problem, we had asked them to forget the garlic bread as we were almost finished our meal but it still came out . When my husband asked for a refund on the bread the manager laughed in his face and said “really”. He wouldn’t let my husband speak , didn’t give a damn whether we were happy or not and to get rid of us gave my husband a refund bread was I would not recommend this place even if you were starving!!!

Popped in for lunch after visiting the Antiques Cellar.never been before. Looks to be genuinely old with original features but sadly very much in need of some TLC. We both had jacket potatoes with salad garnish. When they eventually arrived Not the quickest of service...ever known to man) my wife's tuna and sweetcorn topping had no sweetcorn- on querying, the waiter went to the kitchen and reported back that they didn't have any! This should have been made clear at the start. Also, the salad garnish was a pathetic half slices of tomato and half a dozen green leaves. A couple on the next table were similarly not impressed. There was some entertainment from staff behind the bar having a domestic, but otherwise I would say don't bother with the place.
