Bidrage med feedbackWe went for lunch twice on our holiday and loved it. sorry to sound gushing! It has great character and they sell all kinds of teas and coffees. The first time we sat out in the area at the back which was peaceful with a great view of the old clock in the town centre. The upstairs room is really interesting with framed newspaper cuttings of the history of the shop and other artefacts. The choice of music was lovely relaxing and at just the right volume. The food was delicious. We had soup and welsh rarebit and nice teas. Service is friendly. Wish the tea room could be teleported nearer home.
The inside of the tearoom was full when we arrived, so we were offered a table in the garden. Unfortunately, the light rain started coming down heavier, so we left. After standing outside the shop for a couple of minutes, trying to decide what to do, one of the staff took the time to let us know of an available table inside. So kind. The menu was so incredible, it took ages for us to choose! We very much enjoyed our delicious lunch, and the dogs were able to join us too. The wonderful shop next door was the icing on the cake. Thank you
Gillam's serves the most delicious organic scrambled eggs on hot buttered toast that practically melts in your mouth. It is an incredible breakfast choice!
While staying in Ulverston, we decided to stop by Gillams for a quick breakfast. Even though we only had toast with jam and some hot drinks, it was a delightful experience. The young woman who welcomed us was cheerful, polite, and made us feel right at home.
Always excellent! I just wanted to say a special thank you for the amazing gluten-free bread (Biona Rice and Sunflower Wholegrain). It's a refreshing change from the usual bland Tesco/Genius option. It may be a bit more expensive in the shop, but it's definitely worth it. If you're a fan of Tesco GF bread, this may not be your cup of tea.
