Dragonfly Bagel Co. - South Lake Tahoe

I'm sure the bagels are mediocre for a west coast bagel shop (and that's a positive) and it's not that the service i received was rude, but these folks are on a different planet when it comes to their idea of reasonable service. 1) you shouldn't run out of everything bagels at 9am, especially when the shop is visibly empty and 2) it shouldn't be 20 minutes until you get your food.If I was in the know I would have ordered online and in advance but come onnnn.Take a trip to New York, New Jersey or Pennsylvania you'll notice hustle, effort and a little bit of systems thinking. Embrace and implement that.One thing I did appreciate was that she told me how long it would take for that I am grateful.

Was paralysed by the choices here but the server was friendly and understanding. Overall this place is not busy at all, and has great fulfilling bagel sandwiches... I even got my favourite sauce in a little packet but didn't need it since the food was so good. Thanks bagel guys!edit: bumped up the atmosphere rating because they have dinosaurs all over the place

On March 8, 2023, my daughter got married and I can't thank Dragonfly enough for their stepping in and helping my daughter and now son-in-law have a venue for their wedding. Very last minute due to heavy snows causing road closures making it impossible to get to their planned venue but Dragonfly stepped up and made it possible! The wedding turned out to be fantastic and I know my wife is posting pictures that should be viewable on Dragonfly's Face Book page. Speaking as a native New Yorker who knows bagels(! I can honestly say their bagels are excellent. We took a dozen home with us and are enjoying them with a shmear of cream cheese, lox, capers and onions. Best bagels we've had this side of the Rockies since leaving the east coast. Thanks again Dragonfly! We will be back next time we are in South Lake Tahoe

Delicious and fresh bagels, perfect before a day of skiing. Placed a pickup order easily. Lots of customizations available. Great coffee too.I also left behind a personal item and the owner was quick to respond and went out of his way to coordinate the return. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

One concerning detail was that the staff member preparing our bagels was not wearing gloves and was handling them with bare hands. If that sort of thing bothers you, it’s worth mentioning that it should. After assembling the bagels, she placed them into takeout bags and set them on a shelf in the back of the food prep area, where they remained for five minutes until another employee came out, retrieved them, and called our name. I strongly urge the establishment to address these issues and improve their service. It would also be a good idea to require all staff involved in food preparation to wear gloves. Having someone handle my bagel without gloves is not sanitary. Additionally, when we reached our destination and sat down to enjoy our bagels, we discovered that both had the wrong cream cheese, despite us repeating our orders twice. Overall, this place fell short on nearly every aspect. The bagel itself was decent, but all the other issues overshadowed the experience. There are better bagel options available in town, and we will choose to go with those in the future.
