The Conduit - South Kesteven

Visited and had a pot of tea for 2 and 2 scones with jam. Charged £3.95 per pot of tea and £2.95 per scone with a £1 extra charge for the jam which turned out to be a couple of teaspoons of jam each in a pot. So total bill for this was £15.80 but then to get charged a 10% service charge taking the total to £17.38 was disgraceful. I decide if I want to tip and I would not have here as the scones were bland and the prices so expensive for what was actually served. Could be a nice place but will not return as there are other far better places in Grantham and don't like being ripped off.

The Conduit Tea Rooms (note no longer a bistro/wine bar as far as I see) is a lovely venue for afternoon lunch or tea. We had a lovely lunch (toasted sandwiches) and have to say the service was excellent somewhat 'old school ' but perfectly in keeping with the setting and although a little pricey, we 'd visit again

We dined at this restaurant and opted to sit outside. The establishment was tidy and the staff was friendly, providing efficient service. The menu had somewhat limited options for smaller dishes, but still offered enough variety. Our food arrived promptly and tasted good, though it didn't quite justify the price we paid and was fairly average. One unexpected aspect was when we received the bill and noticed a £3 service charge added, as we prefer to decide on our own tip amount. We do not plan on returning due to the high cost for what we received (£30 for 3 sandwiches and drinks) and the imposition of a mandatory tip.

You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors in the well-maintained garden, with a public parking lot nearby. This family-owned restaurant is very welcoming. For lunch, we tried the korma sausage and mash as well as the frangipan tarts, both of which were excellent and served with great efficiency.

Nice enough shared single Sausage Roll and shared single Cream Tea with extra pots of Tea. However, my Wife charged £25.68 with no itemised bill, and, when challenged, no explanation of how figure reached. Owner then appeared with a £2.75 cash refund with unintelligible explanation. Really disappointed as pleasant until this farce.
