We both had the shrimp special and enjoyed our meal; it was a good value. We arrived late afternoon after a day of exploring South Haven, and it was a pleasure just to take in the building's past as a newspaper office and bank.
This spot is great if you like your burgers burnt. I would rather eat Burger King. With nasty chicken, the only good part was the fries and the bathroom.
It's becoming a tradition to stop in for a meal, whenever we travel by the area. The facility has a comfortable wood-centric ambiance; with the back-bar worth a view, even if one is dining in the main dining areas. Being mid-afternoon off-season we were seated immediately (something that is less likely in-season). Our server, Jennifer, was pleasant and attentive. We started with the onion rings, which were quite tasty. We then each had the mess-of-perch. Though not quite as good as we once remembered; they still evoked some nice memories of prior visits. Overall, stopping in while traveling the area, will continue to be a solid option.
