Mcintosh Winery - South Haven

The tasting room and store, located in the countryside surrounded by apple orchards, is very charming. The dry ciders were absolutely delicious. Although our server was not overly friendly, we still had a great time. The ciders alone make it worth a visit.

While you wait for your flight, you can browse their shop for local candles, glasses, honey, cheese, and more. Note that they are open until 5pm, not 4pm as indicated on Google.

In Michigan, there is always a pioneer and McIntosh Cellars was one of the first in the state. When Michigan only had a few cideries, McIntosh was among them. I have been stopping here for the past 10 years whenever I travel through the area. It is sad to hear that McIntosh is up for sale, but I hope that someone will continue the tradition of being a pioneer and keep making great hard ciders on this property. The original cider and pear cider are both fantastic and refreshing. The original cider is perfectly balanced, not too sweet or too dry. The pear cider is fresh, pure, and gentle on the palate.
