Bidrage med feedbackFor the second year in a row, we have chosen the Compass Inn for our annual Christmas party, with 100 guests in attendance. The service is incredible - nothing is too much trouble. The food was fantastic and everything we arranged was executed perfectly, from the welcome drinks to last orders. We enjoy using this venue and plan to do so in the future. A big thank you to Hayley, Rupert, Sharon, and the rest of the team.
Party of 8, all dishes served hot and enjoyed. No issues, or gripes with anything and a thumbs' up for the triple cooked chips. Friendly service, lovely setting in The Orangerie. Thank you!
The restaurant offers great food at a good price. The menu features classic pub grub with a slightly more upscale twist. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
Exceptional customer service from the moment we arrived early !! All the staff are professional polite and friendly. The room was clean,bed comfortable and bathroom had everything you needed. Breakfast was outstanding I would recommend eggs Benedict ! Full English was very generous!! Easy access one night stopover for a wedding and would highly recommend.
When we made a reservation, we were informed that there was a possibility of noise due to an anniversary party, but that it would not affect our service, which we appreciated. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate us for an earlier dinner, which was fantastic. The waitress took our drink orders and we inquired about the pie of the day before she returned. The chef informed us that there were two options available. When we relayed this information to the waitress, she responded with, "You don't get to choose the pie you want" (not joking! Shocking). She then proceeded to argue with the chef about this matter. Eventually, we received the pie we wanted, but she seemed displeased and glared at us every time she passed by. Additionally, she was often seen lounging on a double pew chair due to what appeared to be laziness. She also failed to notice when our glasses were empty, causing us to wait 15 minutes before requesting a second round. A new waitress at the establishment was excellent and helpful, as was a more experienced lady who appeared to be in charge of the staff. The food was good, especially the pie we chose, and we expressed our gratitude to the chef for providing us with the option. Overall, the experience was okay. However, some staff members could benefit from customer service training. Not the best dining experience, but also not the worst.
