The Swan At Walton - South Derbyshire

We visited the Swan yesterday to celebrate our daughters 1st Birthday. A fabulous meal as always with outstanding customer service from Vivian and all of the team. The food was delicious as it always is and the Christmas decor was stunning. We also had a wonderful surprise from guests on another table who's kindness blew us away. Absolutely fabulous experience. The Christmas turkey lunch was exceptional. The atmosphere was so lovely with the Christmas decorations. Our server Matt went above and beyond, made us feel comfortable and relaxed, nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely recommend and return. Thanks to Matt, my friend and I had the best Christmas annual lunch.

Pretty disappointed overall. Dined in the conservatory and it was very cold. Open sandwich was only just warm when it arrived. Very long wait for desserts to arrive. Won’t be hurrying back, think their standards are slipping.

My friend brought me here for a birthday meal , and I was amazed by the decor , location and have never seen such a great selection of food that is actually made to a high standard. The atmosphere is great. The food is out of this world. I will be travelling 40 miles to come here time and time again now. Our server Matt went above and beyond for us and was awesome. Highly recommended.

I’ll start by saying I am a big fan of the Chilled Pub brand and have a frequent visitor to most of the pubs and never had any issues. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case today at the Swan. A couple of us ordered the homemade lemonade as this is their usual choice. Unfortunately when the drinks arrived they could only be described as murky water. Absolutely no lemon taste at all. We highlighted this to the waitress who was very apologetic and went to get fresh ones. These were slightly better, and not wanting to make a fuss we accepted them, but they were not good at all, and no where near up to the delicious drinks that we have had previously. The food when it came was great, but no sauces and the waitress who delivered them (not our server) went without asking so we had to hunt someone down. Towards the end of our meal we ordered another drink which just never came. The food was great but these small things just let the experience down for us which was such a shame.
