Bidrage med feedbackDoyles doesn't offer a wide variety of dining options. It was suggested to us that this was the best option in the area, but we were not impressed. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly, but it seemed like our waitress was the only person working besides the cook, who was also tending bar in the lounge. The building is not modern and could use some updating to improve the ambiance. The food was average at best. I would not recommend dining here. If you are coming from the south, I suggest dining in Port Au Basque instead.
Located on the road leading out to Cape Anguille, this restaurant had a plain interior that was filled with locals during our visit. As a result, the service was slow and not very attentive. Both of us decided to try the pan fried cod, which was served with vegetables and a baked potato. Unfortunately, the cod was overcooked and had a light batter. The frozen mixed vegetables had lost their color due to overcooking, and the baked potato could have been better if the eyes had been removed. It seemed that the restaurant may have been too busy to provide a good dining experience during our visit, which left us feeling disappointed.
Had the service been better it may have warranted a very good review. I had the fried cod dinner and my husband the moose steak. We were leery to stay as we we the only ones there but it was only 4:00. Waitress finally came over asked her what kind of beer, she didn't know and told us to go to the bar, we did but no one around. My husband asked how big and how was the moose was cooked, she didn't know. We ordered and then she left...like left the building. Someone else brought out the food. Would not go back or recommend.
Great food at great prices with friendly and competent staff. I had a moose burger that cost me $5.75. I had recently paid $19.50 for a moose burger at a trendy restaurant. The burger was about a quarter the price and twice the size.
My husband and I had a great meal here tonight. The seafood platter wasn't available because they ran out of halibut and cod so hubby had roast beef dinner and I had the park chop dinner. Both are served with a homemade roll. We ended the meal by sharing a bakeapple cheesecake. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The server was very kind and friendly.
