Girasol - South Bend

Very good Pupusa! We like the bean and cheese. Comes with warm tomato sauce and a seasoned coleslaw type cabbage to put on them at the table. Made after you order, so don't stop in a rush. But definitely worth the wait!

Girasol Restaurant is a great place to pick up some awesome pupusas. They have other things as well and I will be sure to come over more often and continue to try their other dishes. The pupusas are made fresh to order and the cabbage salad that goes with it is great.

Girasol is run by an El Salvadoran Mom who makes all the pupusas from scratch, and they're absolutely delicious. I don't remember which ones I had (I went a while ago) but no one in the group I went with were disappointed. My only complaint is that there aren't other locations.

Be ready to wait, but know the wait is well worth it! Call in advance and pick-up. Unique and ever so delicious. The owner definitely puts her love and soul into her work and you can taste the difference.

I discovered a local family-owned restaurant called Papusas while visiting a university. The outdoor seating area is lovely, and the food is fantastic. The woman who manages the place was incredibly friendly and accommodating.
