Tacos Don Chente

My 1st time here and it was very good. Its no longer don chente but la victoria. I got a burrito and my wife a super mulita. We thought it was going to so so...but turned out great. The slasa and jalapeños are just as good. You've got to try this place when you're in the area : Next visit will be to try the mariscos. Stay tuned for the post on that.

When you first enter, it's unclear who's waiting to be seated and who is waiting for take out as all you see is the takeout counter. Once clarified, we were seated, though in total it took a full hour for our order to be taken and our food to arrive.

I had to go to El Monte last weekend and looked in the LA Times for ideas on where to eat. This Birrieria La Barca was voted one of Jonathan Gold's best Mexican restaurants so I decided to try it. It's in a kind of run down looking shopping center and you really need to search for it. We found...

Gorditas de chicharron were the best , we also tried the sopes so pastor and they are really good, along with a cucumber and lemon water. Really recoment this place
