Bidrage med feedbackI went to the Azuma-An Honten, a soba restaurant in Tosashimizu City, known for their delicious three-color duck seiro. The restaurant is spacious with a parking lot. The highlight is the three-color seiro which is delicious three times over. The duck seiro costs 2,000 yen exactly. In the winter, I often crave duck, so this was a perfect choice for me.
I tried the duck soba for New Year's Eve and it was delicious! The duck had a great flavor and texture. It was a great way to welcome the new year! The photo is of the duck nanban.
The master who trained at Issian creates exquisite seasonal variations of soba noodles that are highly recommended. For those who love soba, try adding a unique style such as yukiri or kaiware kiri that Issian specializes in. The broth is not too spicy or too sweet, just the right balance with a delicious dashi flavor that complements the hand-made soba noodles. Access by train on the JR Sobu Main Line is limited to only about two local trains every three hours, so driving is the only option. It's a shame you can't enjoy soba and sake before or after your meal, but there is no pretentiousness when visiting this casual noodle shop in town, and the bill is reasonable. The taste can definitely hold its own against renowned soba shops. It's enviable for locals to have such a gem nearby. There are parking spaces for 4-5 cars in front of the shop, and even if they are full, there is a free parking lot in the nearby shopping district.
