El Arroyo Cantina Méxican Kitchen

Please note that we went on the Sunday of the 4th of July weekend, so our experience is likely not typical. They were clearly understaffed and the service likely would have been faster and more consistent at another time.As for the food, both the guac and salsa we got as appetizers was quite tasty. My girlfriend and I both got the veggie fajitas for dinner. After waiting a while we were each brought large plates of veggies and what looked like bowls of drained canned beans. The menu said we would also get salads, which were never brought, and tortillas, which we had to ask for. The restaurant then tried to charge us extra for the tortillas and tried to tells us that the reason we didn't get any was because they had chopped up the tortillas and mixed them with the vegetables, which was clearly not true. On top of that the veggies were so salty we could barely eat them. These cost us $17 each.I'm sure that some of the food here is quite good and that most times the service is too, but we were greatly overcharged for mediocre food.

I really enjoy the atmosphere here and sitting along the creek. Before the price you pay it’s not really worth it you don’t even get chips and salsa before your meal. Also, you have to pay extra for pretty much everything no meal comes with bean and rice you have to pay extra for it so you get three little tiny enchiladas. Me and my partner we’re pretty disappointed but there’s a decent Mexican restaurant right up the road and you actually get your moneys worth.

This is a beautiful restaurant. Very clean. Has a beautiful outdoor seating area on a patio overlooking a Creek. Lots of very pretty flowers and trees outside along the Creek. Food is really good too! All the servers were really nice also.

We were walk-ins. We have been to Sonora many time and finally decided to eat here. We had to go downstairs from the street level and we were given the option of inside or outside by the stream or creek that runs along side the restaurant. The food was good. I recommend the bean dip with flour tortillas chips . We will come back with friends!
