Anna's Taqueria - Somerville

Simple and authentic Mexican cuisine. The burritos are a must-try, but everything else on the menu is equally delicious.

Brian was very kind throughout our experience, and Anna was amazing in helping myself and my wife. Wilmer and the rest of the team are a great group that I appreciate. I have ordered from this place in different parts of the city depending on where I am when I need a break from work to grab a bite to eat. I have ordered many times before in Boston, Porter Square, and typically when I order a burrito or bowl, they are around the same price, including one protein and other toppings like lettuce, tomato, cheese, rice, and beans. I understand that there are toppings that they charge extra for, like sour cream and other vegetables. However, in Somerville, at Davis Square, when I ordered a chicken bowl, on top of the base price for the bowl, they charged an additional $2.40 for one protein. I asked the person at the register why, but they couldn't understand me. I tried asking in Spanish, and one guy explained that the bowl price is just for the base bowl without any meat (protein). For a regular chicken bowl, they charged me $12.47 when the menu said $8.95. The time before, when I added sour cream and a couple of other veggies, they charged me almost $17. This seemed excessive for a chicken bowl, almost the price of a dinner plate at some restaurants. The portions were also very small, with the bowl only filled up to about 3/4 of its capacity.

No pos guao…. This place was solid. Try the salsas!!

Anna's has always been a beloved classic. It's bittersweet to see it close in Brookline, but I'm happy to see that they remain true to their original mission. They serve up fantastic burritos, bowls, tacos - you name it! If you're craving some Mexican food, I highly recommend stopping by for a quick bite.
