Bidrage med feedbackThis is a legit Japanese restaurant. I ordered the Bento Box dinner, and it had so many different things in it hat I never tried before. I thoroughly enjoyed it. My table also ordered the Chirashi Deluxe. Everything was fresh. For the price you can't beat what you get. I also ordered the oyster-don which is a fried oyster, not over-cooked. My favorite of the night was the Octopus sashimi. I could have ate the whole thing myself. Definitely returning here.
Unforgettable flavors but sadly it's closed. Was wondering is the new one at the same location has the same menu?
Get: Go during lunch time for their Chirashi (great value or their spicy tuna is definitely one of my favorites! Jo Sho is tucked away on Cedar Grove Lane. This place is very unassuming but here you will find some authentic treasures. The owners and sushi chefs are Japanese. There is something about eating sushi while hearing people talk in Japanese..I suppose it 's a reassurance of authenticity? : I pretty much stick to the same things here. Their spicy tuna and spicy salmon are my favorites. It actually has a kick to it and you get a good amount of tuna and salmon in each piece. It 's like an explosion of fish in your mouth! I love coming during lunch and getting their chirashi as it 's a pretty great value. For $15.50 you get a delicious bowl of sushi rice (I could just eat a bowl of this seriously and a variety of beautifully colored delicious raw fish on top! I did notice they do omakase here so one day I will come and try it (preferably when I 'm flushed with cash The other thing here, this place is not cheap.. it 's definitely higher priced than some sushi places in the area butttt as the saying goes 'you get what you pay for '! It 's just slightly pricier than what you would pay at a casual sushi restaurant. Service here can be hit or miss but today the servers were prompt and friendly! Definitely a fan!
My friend and I wanted to try a new sushi restaurant for dinner a couple weeks ago and decided on Jo Sho. They have a good variety of appetizers, hot dishes, and a simple sushi menu. We shared the tuna tataki appetizer, chirashi bowl, spicy salmon roll, and spicy tuna roll. The sushi rolls were 6 pieces each. The tuna tataki was fairly tasty and refreshing and the chirashi bowl was pretty standard. I absolutely loved the spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls. They were simple yet so delicious and had great texture. I couldn't get enough. Taste 4.5 Atmosphere 4 Presentation 3.5 Service 3 OVERALL 4
Before poke bowls became the biggest food craze, I was downing bowls of chirashi with Japanese colleagues at this place, almost regularly. Literally meaning scattered, this bowl typically houses any seafood and vegetable that one decides to mix in. This came as a suggestion from one of our Senior Managers, who touted Jo Sho as the most authentic Japanese restaurant he 's visited in The Garden State. If seafood isn 't your thing, their bowls of udon will warm you up. Come hungry, udon is basically ramen 's cousin, on gains. Much swole indeed.
