Bidrage med feedbackFish n chips as they should be. Great to have a few different fish options and the choice of having it crumbed or grilled as well as the standard battered. Note that the fish prices are more expensive than the prices shown on Zomato. I had the crumbed snapper $7.70. Chips were perfect, one scoop was a good portion size for two. Good service too, staff brought our order out to our car.
Great fresh fish, kumera potato chips. Our local gluten-free choice that offers gf batter and grilled fish options. Huge queues out the door from 530 attest to it's popularity, so definitely order ahead.
Great beer batter chips. Nice home made beef patties. Great quality food and the owners are awesome!Home made aioli is delicious
Food ordered:<br/ The Streaker Burger<br/ Beer Battered Chips<br/ Snapper<br/ 2x Crab Sticks<br/ Hot Spicy Prawns<br/ 1x Chicken Tender<br/ <br/ Bill: $29.90<br/ <br/ Big tummy: My family who live up by Warkworth raved about Sea Spray Takeaways (the beer battered chips in particular), so we figured we'd call in and give them a crack on our trip up north. Their menu has all the regulars expected of your typical Kiwi takeaways, plus an assortment of specialties to boot.<br/ I ordered the Streaker burger and a crab stick, though my girlfriend was nice enough to share her hot spicy prawns with me (either that or she simply ordered too much to eat herself). The burger was excellent one of the better takeaway burgers I've come across. Though I wish the menu had mentioned that it comes with beetroot. I absolutely detest beetroot *shudder* and it's one of those foods that, once it's in your burger, it leaves its mark and taste on all the ingredients. The standout for me though was easily the prawns. Think KFC's hot spicy coating on some de shelled prawns. I'd happily return for the hot spicy prawns alone.<br/ I do feel somewhat inclined to note that I felt fairly sick after the meal, but I think that can be put down to the food being just a little bit too oily nothing too serious. <br/ <br/ Little tummy: We took a trip up north on the weekend, so our weekly Satur date happened to take us to Sea Spray Takeaways. Admittedly I was a bit hungry, so I got to sample a fair selection of their menu haha. I loved their beer battered chips, snapper and hot spicy prawns. The prawns were different than what I expected (more like shrimp coated in spiced batter), but delicious none the less. The snapper was soooo good and had just the right amount of batter. The only let down for me really was the crab stick. Maybe it was an older crab stick or a bad batch? Certainly not enough to keep me from coming back though. I'd happily make a pit stop up at SST next time we're in the area.
Excellent Take Aways. Fresh fish, cooked perfectly. A great burger! Traditional 'Kiwi style ' with everything in it. I agree with the previous comment about the chips being ever so slightly oily, but they were crunchy tasty. Just the right amount of salt. Highly recommend will definitely go again when we are next at Snell 's Beach.
