Honey's Place Wood-fired Pizza Cocktails

We ate at Honeys for the first time last night. We drove from Bastrop and it was totally worth the drive! Great food, delicious drinks and awesome staff. We will be back for sure!

We had The Pines pizza and I had a Margarita both delicious. Our server was great. However the very hot room was not. The flies were pretty bad. I know flies are bad this time of year. We were happy they were open on a Sunday.

There are a lot of factors involved in the food service industry. And depending on the day of your visit, it can be a great experience or horrible. But one thing about Honey’s that is usually always predictable is that the pizza is delicious. Our visit was great. Service was perfect. Pizza snd salads were delicious. And you can now dine inside. Great day.

While visiting relatives in Elgin we decided to have pizza one night. So we took a drive to Smithville to try out Honey's pizza. The restaurant is in a old building on one of the main streets downtown. There were 5 adults and 2 kids in our party. There was only two other tables with people at them but it took forever to get waited on. Our server had long hair and kept pulling it out of his face with his hands the whole time. He brings our drinks handing them with his fingers over the lips of the glasses. We all looked at each other, yuck. Same hands he used to keep pulling his hair out of his face with, disgusting..We all wiped are glasses off with our napkins. It was hot outside and inside the restaurant as well. And it was overall kind of uncomfortable there. We finally ordered, everyone had pizza and we ordered mac cheese for the kids off the newly added items part of the menu. The server said we would have to wait to get the mac cheese because they had to make it. Ok, he brings our pizza's out and took off. All of us needed refills on our drinks but no server in sight. So when we're all done with our pizza's and dying of thirst he brings out the mac cheese orders for the kids. We looked at them and they had hot peppers in and on top of them. That's not what we ordered, what we ordered has no hot peppers on it. He said this is the only mac cheese they make. We said what we ordered has no hot peppers on it. So he gets all huffy and gets a menu and points to the mac cheese and said that's all they have. We took the menu and turned it over and at the bottom saying new items was the mac cheese that we ordered. He said be never saw that and didn't even know it was there. So I told him we were not happy that after he served the pizza he never came back to refill our drinks. He said he was to busy. Yeah, there was only two other tables with only two people setting at them each. Bottom line, the server was disgusting, did a terrible job waiting on us and didn't even know what what was on his own menu. Then to make matters worse, my pizza was dry and I asked for a little sauce and he ended up charging me for it. We won't be back for sure. Overall terrible experience, just bad....
