Duisdale House - Sleat

A fabulous evening and exceptional good, the four of us didn’t leave anything on our plates. I couldn’t fault a single thing.

Duisdale Hotel was our first visit and we may come just to experience the stay, as we only came to the restaurant, there was 3 members of staff on the night, who were ok, I ordered lamb, to me it should've been cooked a bit more, I seemed to chew chew the meat, it wasn't what I was expecting, my wife felt as though she was eating some kind of sand/grit with her main meal, we wanted to leave asap, we got through our courses and paid what I thought was an absolute fortune for our meal. Sorry Duisdale Hotel, food on the night was not for me, on that memory we won't be having a meal again, maybe we will stay as all rooms inside looked quite and very pleasant. We went to a a place near by the following night, as we stayed at Armadale for a week, the difference was chalk cheese, and value for money.

We stayed at a hotel nearby, which did not serve dinner. Reservation was made at this establishment. The greeting and the choice of table was nice. Upon ordering my dinner, the server asked what my liking‘s were. I told him I did not eat meat. Therefore, I wanted a dish without meat. He recommended the two fish plates, which I chose one of them. I went with one of his recommendations, which sadly had Spanish sausage in it. Upon discovering the sausage, I asked another survey, which then confirmed that it is a Spanish sausage. I kindly asked them to remove my plate which I’ve only eaten a third. The lady apologized profusely and offered me a new dish. Which I refused since I’ve lost my appetite. My meal was not charged, which was very kind of them. I have learned from this experience to ask more questions on how the dish it’s prepared and what is in it. However, it is equally important for the servers to listen closely to any remarks, such as “I don’t eat meat” when suggestions are made. My husband on the other hand enjoyed his meal very much. A couple friends and I happened upon this place. And we were glad we did. The building was as a cute as could be. The staff was super friendly. The service was top notch. The food was excellent. We’d go back.

Good dinner here on the Sleat peninsula, we stayed at Toravaig and were taken here and back which was very nice. The beef was delicious.
