Moderno - SIRMIONE

The food was ok and it’s in a lovely position but they served the smallest glass of wine I have ever seen. Thought it was a whisky measure.

Menu was much the same as everywhere else but the staff were more helpful if you wanted anything different I had a steak cooked to a perfect medium served with a rather larger than expected salad. Negative would be that I noticed when other tables asked for a dessert menu they were sent to look at the fridge. This maybe ok if there is one person but when families start to move about altogether it was interesting congestion!

Tried to get dinner at a bunch of restaurants in Sirmione but all the highly rated ones are CLOSED until 7 or 7:30, so we tried this pretty little gem. The service was quick and attentive, and the wine list was respectable with local choices also included. The caprese salad was quite good, as was the tuna and the spaghetti with clams. A good dinner experience, then on to gilato for dessert!

Visited after getting off boat in the afternoon for tea and cakes and was given a table facing the lake, all very good and enjoyable. Next day we decided to call in at similar time for another tea and cake which were very nice) and even though restaurant was nowhere near full, was rudely told we could only have a table if eating a meal. I explained that previous day it was not a problem and woman became aggressive and said to go. A Manager then came over and said we could sit but only inside. It was the attitude of the woman that left us with a bad feeling to this place and would definitely not visit again. We also met another couple who had felt staff to be rude here.

One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Very vegetarian friendly, ravioli was delicious! As a group of 11 it was unusual for us all to be happy with a meal but everyone was very happy and loved the food.
