A nice lunch in the old town of Sion. Good foie gras and Pokebowl. Dessert a very beautiful Pavlova fraises. Beautiful glass Fendant! Being space!
We had a dinner on the 21st. October and booked a table in advance as we knew it was a popular place. I would say they don't have 2m between the tables and no barriers (transparent plastic walls) between the guests. We were rude because we could fill out a form related to COVID. Later they asked us on TV whether we did it online as if we were some kind of kids. The service was indifferent, we had to wait a long time to get the bill and the end missed our train because we arrived late to the station. ls gnocchi were simple, nothing unforgettable. Veneson stew was good and not expensive 28CHF.
I was in this place about 8 years ago, and I had a very nice memory of this place. So, of course, when we went by, I suggested going back and I was very excited to go back when I was on a big meal and a big ambience. I really wanted to be disappointed. First we arrived, I appreciated a little early for their standards (which was completely good for my standards, but I agree that these can differ) and the restaurant manager welcomed us in such a hard and nervous way that was really not pleasant. He sighed and told us we could have a table in an alcove, and the sound in his voice was really that he made us a huge favor... The table was in a smaller room on the side of the main dining room and the staff of the restaurant were right next to us dinner before they started their shifts. The ambience was that of a school restaurant. There was absolutely no service, in the right sense, with class and courtesy and elegance as you could expect. We really felt that we were treated like extras and that we disturbed their carefully planned night more than anything else by showing up without reservation. Rude as possible! Then the food was more than average. There was nothing in the plates to maintain the way we were treated. The food resembled the type of food you can cook at home, really. The chicken was in terms of quality, really thick and veiny, not tender at all, also not quality, and the potatoes were just banal. The jardines they threw on the chicken slices were also below average. I could have cooked this meal at home. There was no creativity, no originality and no finesse. This type of kitchen is really hard on your stomach and I don't think I can even finish. I understand that we may have to make a reservation and that we might have arrived a little early, but this is not an excuse for a restaurant manager to treat customers in annoying manner. Better say there is no table available for the night. I wouldn't go back there and I don't recommend it.
Great atmosphere, cosy and comfortable seating, top staff and great food for an OK price. Great for a good lunch among friends.
