Bidrage med feedbackA large hawker center spread over 2 floors, and one can find just about any cuisines including the typical Chinese and Malay food, drink/desserts stalls, and a few that does not always found in every hawker centers mango pudding, peanut soup/ball, baguette, gourmet burger. My favorite is definitely Ah Boling peanut soup stall. Really good price and consistent quality. Have to try to mango pudding in the stall next door, and other stalls. It's a short walk along Beach Rd if you are in the Bugis area.
CNY eve dinner. Had the Roti John combo, Beef Steak Kuah, Nasi Pataya combo and Mee Kuah. The gravy/sauce flavorful as expected from Deen but the noodle for the mee kuah a little undercooked. Roti John was drenched with cheese sauce and mayonnaise. I supposed some people like it 5hat way but I prefer my Roti John simple like the original Botanic Garden.
Lunch is really crowded usually....even with the current SMM. We especially liked the Keng Heng Whampoa Lor Mee and Popiah Rojak. The muffins were good too. Will be back to try out the other hawker stalls in Golden Mile Food Centre.
2 level of cooked food, basement and first floor. Variety of food selection are available, from Chinese-Muslim- Indian-western. Some speciality stalls are found like Mr. Baguette, Indon Chendol, Turkish Kebap, Coffee More..... Some stalls are listed under Michelin guide but are season if past....yet to be renewn. Many stalls business as usual on a Sat afternoon. Queues are forming in some favourite stalls. Tables are netted to restrict crowds. Coffee More with freshly ground coffee beans, long queue, owner is proud, no big deal!
Ate from 3 stalls for our lunch famous Cha Kuay Teow with vegetables and Lor Mee (the aisle directly facing CKT stall and Flourful Delight. Both noodle dishes were very good. CKT had 2 succulent prawns (deshelled! for $4.50. Wonderful flavour with addition of green veg. Husband's favorite Lor Mee had crispy fish skin and fried fish together with the usual ngoh hiang stuff. I'm only impressed with the first 2 items. Flourful Delight has very yummy Xiao Long Bao. Each bao had such thin skin containing the soup which I drank before eating the meat filling. Only grouse is that there was no decent chilli sauce to go with them. Only red cut chilli in soy sauce. The fried dumplings were good too. Had chives in them which I like. Up the taste factor. Will go back to try more stalls.
