Bidrage med feedbackWell our experience started out well. Had a little jazz band playing out front. Only 3 tables in the place had people at them. We started off ordering an appetizer of the voodoo roll. It was nice and crunchy but that was the best part. The filling was mushy overcooked rice and cheese. Well we ordered the sampler platters one was the app portion and the other was the dinner portion. It took close to 45 min for them to come out then had to send them back as 5 of the seven were cold. Mind you they are all pre-made and just need to be warmed up to start with. so why 45 min and why cold still) Now once we were able to eat finally, the corn chowder was the best out of all. The jambalaya was dry the etouffee was goopy and so spicy buy yet bland in flavor, the gumbo was just alright. The shrimp and grits was goopy and bland. The poor waitress was running the whole restaurant plus bartending. We saw another server or someone from the kitchen don't really know what his job was but kept apologize for the slow kitchen service. Every table there recieved apologies and or compensation in some way for the poor kitchen service. This place need to get its act together and fast or they won't be open long.
I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The people are awesome the food is great! We went on Karaoke night and the DJ WAS AWESOME! Thanks again for that SPICY Martini!! Do yourself the favor and go to this place!!
Everywhere else it's just Tuesday but at Roux Cajun eatery it's a taste of New Orleans and Mardi Gras.Start your journey to New Orleans right here in Connecticut. With authentic Cajun cuisineAlso you definitely have to order the hurricane cocktail!!!!One of my favorite things to eat while I'm down in Florida is alligator bites, so I am very excited to have them here in Connecticut and they tasted just as good when you go down south. We had voodoo rolls along with freshly made chips. From the bar menu They had all varieties of PoBoysOf course a good Cajun jambalaya. Sausage and chicken and rice along with the Cajun spices. Also had Crawfish Etouffee I must say it was my first time ever having this and it was just absolutely delicious. And of course we finished off our meals with the dessert with King Cake and Beignets
Roux dining and experience is on point. The live jazz and New Orleans style music will definitely take you back down south and make you feel happy. Food is very tasty with many flavors which will have you coming back for more. Staff and bar staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, a great little family run small business in quaint simsbury. You need to come and try a taste of New Orleans!
Recently visited this place in Glastonbury. I'm a fan of traditional food from New Orleans (gumbo, jambalaya, etc), and I was glad there is a place that we could go visit. First impressions, the place is nice with open space for comfortable seating. We had a chance to speak with the owner a d she was great, you could tell she has a passion for what she was doing and trying create a place where people could come hang out, listen to some music and get something to eat. Service was great, and as we have questions on the menu, they offered to give us samples to help us decide. There were a lot of choices food wise. We landed on some poboys and the sampler. I felt the grits, gumbo, and crawfish were good although the jambalaya was a bit cold and not as good as the other dishes. The Mac n Cheese was simple but good, enough seasoning to give it a kick. I think the poboys are a good go to for a nice lunch or a choice in case you are not sure what to eat. The sandwiches were good, especially the shrimp one. At the end of the day I ask myself the question of would I come back to a Restaurant a good 25 min away from home, the answer is absolutely! The place has a family feel, good food, good ambience. I think after I get to try more dishes this will become a 5 starts. Keep up the good work guys!
