Chili's Grill - SIMSBURY

I went here with my daughter after a school production. I made it clear to the waitress that we wanted to sit near the large party, but Did Not want to be lumped in with their order. We wanted our own table a d own check. She nodded her head that she understood. We sat down. No menus given, no offer of water, no drink order. She asked me several times if I was responsible for the large group and each time I told her no. We are separate. The large group arrived and proceeded to sit at several tables around us instead of the larger tables that were set up. I requested several times to order. I sat at that table for well over 30 minutes. She was the only waitress assigned to take care of 70 plus guests and NEVER acknowledged us at the table.

Food amazing, prices unbelievable, atmosphere ?, location great ?

Bozos. Not Bazos (i.e. Amazon founder). BOZOS, as in clown-like behavior.Quiet weekday night, walk-in around 4:30 and order to go food. Simple, couple orders of Chicken Nachos. Grab order, and on my way home, want a taste of the order. No chicken. Turn around, drive back to the Avon Restaurant. 30 minutes later and a couple of sorry for the screw-up ....I get my make-up Take Out Order.Get home...No Chicken. FIGGETABOUTITTTT! The disappointment I feel and words I used....couple of Hail Mary 's and a plea to the God Almighty!BOZOS. They wasted 90 minutes of my precious time. My wife is the only human I allow to waste my precious time.

So, our server was great. She brought drinks and stuff regularly. My wife’s nachos were good…. But my burger was less than stellar. When the expo brought it out, I seriously thought it was the wrong burger. It looked nothing like the picture and nothing like the burgers I have had there in the past. It looked like a McDonalds burger. A $15 McDonald’s burger. I asked if this was right as it looked nothing like it’s supposed to. Her response was “I don’t know what to do about.” Yeah…So, do a quick search for what the burger is supposed to look like and compare. The fact that the fries were cold didn’t help.

Was very impressed with the staff. We came during dinner rush and expected a wait but were sat almost immediately.Food took about 40 minutes to arrive, and my steak was very overcooked. here is where I 'm impressed) they staff was amazing about it. The manager came and talked to us. Comped most of our meal! They went above and beyond to help correct the mistake!This is our date night spot. Normally, the food is ALL amazing. It was a one-off, and we will ABSOLUTELY be back!
