I regret not checking out Chan's sooner. We've been enjoying this restaurant for over 26 years, and I must say, the food has improved significantly in the last decade. It used to be a bit greasy, but now it’s much better. Recently, I had the sesame chicken, which was light, crispy, and packed with flavor! Their BBQ pork is excellent too—crispy on the outside and served warm. Just a heads up, the hot mustard is incredibly spicy, so proceed with caution. My wife ordered the chicken and broccoli, which was also fantastic; the chicken wasn’t greasy, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Takeout is quick, but they are patient, which is appreciated since many customers may have English as a second language and might speak quickly. The dining experience is always pleasant, and the service is top-notch, as expected from the second-generation owners. Thank you to the family for over 20 years of great meals!
The egg blossom soup was quite good—hot, refreshing, and filled with some mushrooms and a few peas. For the main course, I ordered the dinner combination #1. The pork was decent, though not very crispy and lacked a good amount of meat. The pork was mixed with an overwhelming amount of bean sprouts, onion, and celery, served over a bed of thick, crispy chow mein noodles (the kind typically used in salads). The sauce was a clear, thin gravy reminiscent of chicken pot pie filling, but not very flavorful. The Egg Foo Young was a separate disappointment—a dense gray cake primarily made of bean sprouts and held together by egg. It came topped with a brown gravy that didn’t taste like the usual Chinese brown sauce. On the plus side, the restaurant was clean and the service was adequately fast. Overall, I would give it 2 stars. I would recommend trying any other Chinese restaurant over Chan's, though it wasn't the worst dining experience I've had.
We ordered and it was delivered to our hotel. They did not even deliver plastic silver and the delivery fee was not cheap. Her food was blah, sausage pot stickers I've ever had.
I would find another place to eat, ordered $35 worth of food, sweet and sour chicken, shrimp and orange chicken and all of it was cold by the time I drove home(5 minute drive). There was more breading than meat. I?ve never encountered a Chinese food restraint that puts the main courses in bags and sauces in boxes. By doing that, the main course was dried out and not tasty at all. I would say the win for this meal was the pork fried rice. So sad
