Bidrage med feedbackOur large extended family was up at Silverstar for my Aunt's celebration of life. We stopped in for lunch and drinks (a huge table of over 25 people, with a sizeable overall table bill of over $1,000 easily) Most of the waitresses were amazing. One in particular went out of her way with nasty and humiliating comments. My 6 year old granddaughter asked for a soft drink and I was trying to flag someone down to order it, and unhappily caught the attention of this certain extremely rude waitress. (I should add that the restaurant was NOT at capacity that day, and not overly busy) She abruptly told me she was putting the drink on my bill and then asked very belligerently if I was unhappy, and that I seemed angry and was giving off a negative vibe. I was beyond horrified, this was done in front of family members I haven’t seen in a long time. It was completely humiliating. After speaking with other family members later, they too said she had rude interactions with several other people at our table. I will not set foot in this restaurant again.
Came here first five years ago, and the Red Antler has improved since then. The atmosphere is good, the waiting staff are excellent, and the food is good. It’s one of the better options in Silver Star, without going too expensive.
On the evening of Saturday February 4, I took my daughter to Silver Star for a great family concert and then for dinner afterward. We were told it would be about a 10-15 minute wait, which we had no problem with. I asked if they wanted my name for a list. They said no. Next, a different couple walked in and the manager told them We have a table just finishing up and then I 'll get you right in . I approached the manager and said Actually we 're a table for two as well and we have already been waiting . He scoffed at me! I asked why they didn 't take names down to eliminate these mix ups, he smirked, rolled his eyes and walked away. Then a staff member with his arm in a sling, (I think his name was Callum? came and told my daughter and I to sit in a waiting area. As soon as we sat 'out of the way ', the manager came back and sat the other couple who came in after us! The manager then went and hid by the kitchen to let Callum have to try to explain to me. This was an extremely humiliating experience to be cast aside to have a caucasian couple sat and to keep us waiting. Obviously we left, and had a wonderful experience at the Bulldog. I will never be back, and unfortunately that experience has actually tainted my opinion of Silver Star Mountain in general. Is this the kind of people you have in leadership roles working with the public?!
As with a number of venues, the Antler seems to be suffering a Covid hangover. As busy as ever, the staff just don’t seem to be able to cope with patchy service and inattentive and/or ineffectual floor management. Nevertheless, the place remains a solid option for drinks after a day of skiing, and offers a range of pub style meals to satisfy most the wings remain a firm favourite.
I ate dinner here three times during a recent visit, breakfast once, and lunch twice. The ambiance is a casual pub/bar but children are welcome. Delicious pub food (burgers, poutine, fries, wraps, sandwiches, etc. and drinks. I recommend the pulled pork tacos and the hopped apple cider. Staff were always personable and friendly.
