Ren's Ramen - Silver Spring

Very unassuming spot nessled in between a Thai restaurant and a Chinese take out joint. The Sapporo style ramen is full of flavor and truly satisfying. The seasoned poached egg was particularly tasty and the Gyoza was an excellent appetizer.

The food is good but not great. Portions are somewhat small and toppings are very stingy. Expect to pay street parking unless you get lucky. Not likely to return.

The ramen is the best around here but you take what they bring you or Ren will ban you. In my case, I went back to get the eggs I paid for on two occasions and apparently that’s “complaining.”

Ordered spicy pork Ramon. Very tasty. Also the pork belly fun was great. And mont blanc cake was delicious, fresh and soft. We are definitely coming back.

This is a small, authentic ramen shop owned by Japanese people from Sapporo. All ramen shops I’ve been to in Japan are cozy like this shop.I got the Sapporo ramen. The broth is rich and flavorful. It is a little salty, but I like salt so it’s ok. The egg costs extra but is just the way I like it, soft boiled and marinated in soy/mirin. I thought there could be more pork, there’s only one piece. You can ask for additional pork, but it costs more.Service is quick and friendly. I found parking on the street easily. I wouldn’t drive super far out of my way to come here, but it was good.
