Bidrage med feedbackI had a craving for some good Italian pastries. This location is in the main piazza down the hill from the Duomo in Sienna. It has a large, inviting interior with a few tables at which you can sit and enjoy coffee and pastries and sandwiches. All of the delicious pastries are freshly made. They also have a variety of semifredos and cookies. In addition, there are many products available in packages, tins, and jars. I was delighted to find boxes of macaron glacés (candied chestnuts) which are difficult to find in the US. A stop at Nannini Toselli is worth the time and money.
Ive been around to more than 72 cities in Italy, but one snack in particular, found on this bar its probably one of the most horrible snacks Ive ever had. At the top of it, a strange transparent gelatine (I couldnt identify what was that, but at first seemed like plastic). Below of it, cold shrimps, a slice of zucchini, and a weird star shaped piece of cheese, all of that WITH cold mayonnaise. I couldn't eat it all, but I hope I wont die tomorrow. Its absolutely disgusting. Whoever did this, please, rethink your career as a cooker. I took a picture to prove Im not joking, its a horrible food.
A great pasticceria all kinds of sweet pastries as well as some savory sandwiches, and of course good coffee. But it's more of a quick stop in, grad a bite standing up at the coffee bar, and run sort of place
Le ragazze del Nannini a Toselli sono fantastiche, lavorano da Dio ed hanno anche una gran pazienza, professionalità ed arte.... By Luca
The perfect stop for a quick (or slow) coffee and sweet, Sienese style. The establishment has a sophisticated feel and the ideal place for that great coffee or late afternoon 'Aperitivo ' which includes a huge spread of local tastes before venturing off for dinner. A must to visit if you are in Siena.
