Bidrage med feedbackWe shared a split pea soup and made to order sandwich. The so was wonderful and the sandwich enormous and fresh.
Have been to Toast many, many, many times for lunch. Sandwiches were always really good, stuffed full of fresh ingredients, service was speedy and friendly. But not today. Arrived at nearly 1.30 and had to wait in a lineup over 10 minutes to even get to make an order. As i was in a hurry, I ordered one of the daily specials (already made up in the fridge - Roast Beef Pizza sandwich.) It was not good, dry bread roll, processed cheese, canned black olives and goopy red pizza sauce. Will not be returning. Shame as Toast was my go-to place for a quick lunch whenever I am in Sidney.
I used to come to Toast very often: always great food and great service. Unfortunately since the change in ownership, I see the quality of service and product has gone downhill. The staff rotates frequently, making the sandwiches thinner (see picture of my grilled cheese) and wait time for food is always 20 minutes. Since my lunch break is only 30 minutes, I am unfortunately very seriously considering somewhere else to buy my lunches.
After a morning of shopping on a rainy day, we were looking for a place to grab a quick bite that had a nice warm bowl of soup. We tried the Thai soup of the day. It was hot and nicely spicy, with a thick piece of bread to go with it. It was delicious and hearty - just enough of a meal for us. We got in just in time by the look of things because it got really crowded, just after we sat down to eat so I'm glad that we got in when we did. I would definitely come again.
And a great place for a bowl of soup, the sandwich of the day and of course they do a great coffee. Be sure and stop in for their casual atmosphere.
