Bidrage med feedbackWhen it was open, it was my go-to place for cabbage rolls and perogies for lunch take away. It was very inexpensive and very tasty. However they closed sometime in 2014. (the Trip Advisor webpage does not allow me to pick a date I visited before December 2014), I'm not sure if they're affiliated with The Taste of Europe restaurant in Victoria.
My husband is always looking to find recreations of his grandmother's home cooked Polish/Slovakian foods. He ordered pirogies, cabbage rolls and kielbasa with a sauerkraut slaw. Although there was some disagreement with the proprietor (who was actually Polish) about what these are called in the Polish language my husband quickly relented after being served large portions of cabbage rolls in a rich tomato/paprika sauce, sauerkraut/mushroom pirogies with the tenderest dough, and artisan kielbasa, not the shrink packaged kind. For my husband it was a walk down memory lane, for me it was a cozy meal of delicious comfort food.
I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant. The food was fantastic, authentic, and comforting.
I ordered takeout and brought it to the Ferry. I wish I could have another taste right now, but it's too late.
Victoria's last stronghold of European cuisine, this restaurant is the perfect choice for a delicious and affordable meal.
