Khmai was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We were warmly greeted and well taken care of by our servers—Amanda, who gave fantastic food recommendations, and Stephanie, who suggested great drinks. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was incredibly cool. I could’ve stayed all night! It was such a wonderful experience and a perfect introduction to Cambodian cuisine. Our neighborhood is so lucky to have Khmai—wishing you much continued success!

I’m Khmai was delicious! It’s definitely great to see a wider variety of ethnic foods in the city. We ordered eight dishes, probably over-ordering a bit. The fried mushrooms, tofu, and noodles were the least favorite at the table, while the beef sticks and Loc Lac were a hit with everyone. All the food was well-seasoned and flavorful. The one star deduction is due to an odd experience with the menu. While we were ordering, one of the servers interrupted us to ask if we were done with the menu, right in the middle of our order, which we found both wild and unprofessional. Other than that, it was a great experience overall!

Stellar service: very welcoming, kind, knowledgeable, and professional. The food was absolutely delicious, well presented, and large portions. Beautiful atmosphere. You can tell a lot of care went here.

Love, love, LOVE Chefs Mona and Mai. I've been eagerly awaiting their reopening, and their very first day back, they didn't disappoint! You can taste their passion and devotion to feeding people and bringing Cambodian food into the spotlight. This restaurant will always be my #1 recommendation in Chicago!
