Bidrage med feedbackI went to this restaurant for lunch with a friend. The layout was a bit unusual, with a small hotel bar leading into a dining room that resembled a care home. The room was crowded with large, dark furniture, making it difficult to move around. The menu was quite traditional and lacked any innovative options. We chose the chicken, which was dry and served without sauce. The salad and sides were decent. Overall, I don't feel the need to come back anytime soon.
This restaurant was one of the worst places I have ever been to. The food was terrible, although the staff were quite friendly. It's a shame that the manager doesn't seem to care about customer service and could use a smile on his unwelcoming face. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
During my three-month stay at this hotel while working for a local company, I found the rooms to be great, the service top-notch, the food fantastic, and the staff made me feel very welcome. I had the opportunity to stay in almost all of the rooms, some of which are located in the main building above the bar and restaurant. Despite being close to a main road, I didn't find the noise to be bothersome. The rooms were all comfortable and spacious, with great views across the fields at the back of the hotel. There is also a beer garden and patio area for enjoying sunny days. If you are looking for a warm, friendly, and comfortable place to stay, I highly recommend The Castle Inn. The value for money is excellent, and the owner and his team go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay.
Had the misfortune to call here recently due to not being able to find anywhere else. We soon found out why they were quick to get your order you were then stuck with it! Mushroom starter inedible and greasy residue on the plate meant we did not finish it. We hoped that the main course would be better no chance the fish and chips was only just about edible but again rather oily this is possibly due to 90% of people now coming in were well over 70 and obviously satisfied with poor quality. My wife tried to curry wow a few pieces of chicken floating in an inedible liquid. I had started mine otherwise we would have left at this point. I can only say if you value your digestive system leave this place well alone. I complained on settling the bill and was met with 'O.K. ' You have been warned !!!.
Myself and my partner called at the castle inn on the way home from a weekend away. My partner had the ploughmans salad which he thoroughly enjoyed and there was plenty of variety with ham, cheese, salad, coleslaw, pickles ect. However I had the cheese and onion pie. It was not a pie. It had no crust on the top only on the bottom which was hard. The filling was so full of potato that it was like eating cheesy mash with onion. It has to be the worst cheese and onion pie I've ever had. Very disappointing. We weren't asked by the staff how our meal was otherwise I would have told them that I wasn't happy.
