The food was delicious. I enjoyed some apps while my husband had the lamb pop dinner. He said the lamb was perfectly cooked. The cave was the band. It was excellent! We enjoyed the singing entertainment of Eric Harris, E.R.I.C. I recommend a Friday at Par 440. It's the perfect date or place of celebration.
My second visit to your facility and will come back. ERIC was absolutely amazing!! What a gift! It is the reason why you receive an appropriate assessment. The food was fair. During my last visit, however, I enjoyed the food more. Two questions. When the Lord was left from the adjacent table, his plate remained on the table during our entire visit - we came there at 8:30 a.m. and drove to the end. My absolute largest beef was served in plastic cups!!! Is that your regular practice? I refused to order a cocktail. You pay a high price for plastic cups? Given the mood of your facility, I find it so hard to believe that plastic cups are what you regularly present to customers. What was it about? When I return and ERIC is my draw, I hope you stop and despair from the cups. Their prices seem fair, but the cups do not fit with a fifty dollar plus duck. The staff was sufficient and busy. Maybe you need additional staff to clean tables.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, there were no staff members to greet us at the entrance. I proceeded to the terrace where my reservation was supposed to be. Members of my party were simply told to find a seat without any guidance to our reserved table or any inquiries about our reservation. Even when I approached the terrace, any staff I encountered either turned away or avoided eye contact, seemingly wishing to be left alone. We were not provided with a drink menu at the start. After ordering our drinks and appetizers, we also placed our food order. While our orders arrived promptly and were presented well, the pitcher of Sangria was disappointing—it tasted watered down and was mixed with overly ripe, discolored fruit. When it came time to settle the bill, we were shocked by the price of the Sangria. We raised concerns about the pricing, especially since we expected better quality for what was supposed to be an "upper shelf" drink. With just two glasses served and the pitcher now empty, we found it hard to believe this was justified. The staff, particularly a man named Mario Lavecchia, insisted we needed to understand that we were in Newark and that those prices reflected their standards. He refused to show us a drink menu or clarify what made their products "top shelf," implying that our expectations were misplaced. We paid a $700 tab before any discussion could resolve the discrepancies. I have never encountered such hostility or inconvenience from management or waitstaff at any establishment before, and I will not be returning to this restaurant.
This was my first time visiting Par 440! I had seen many parties and brunch being held so I wanted to try it. Needless to say, I'll probably stick to brunch or private parties. For dinner I ordered the stuff shrimp with mash potatoes and asparagus. I loved the asparagus, however the stuffed shrimp was overcooked to the point the shrimp was rubbery, and the crab filling was filled with so much filler you barely tasted the crab. The restaurant looks nice, great staff...
